Hello Summer!

During the summer time I like to give my hair and skin some what of a break. What I mean is I tend to wear less make up and use less heat on my hair. This is usually because most days I'm just lounging around or going places like the beach or pool where I don't need to worry too much about my appearance, but I also don't want to look like I just rolled out of bed.

To look and feel my best I make sure I'm really taking care of my skin so it is still fresh and radiant without having to pile on a lot of make up. I do the exact same thing with my hair so that it is still soft and smooth without having to apply any heat to it.

Here are just a few products I use to keep my skin and hair healthy in the summer time.

From left to right:

I have two face masks that I reach for regularly. The first one is the Mask of Magnaminty by Lush. This mask really draws out impurities and also exfoliates the skin. This leaves my face feeling so refreshed and smooth. The next one is the Clear Improvement mask by Origins. I apply this mask whenever my pores feel clogged and when I really want to draw out any dirt or makeup. I alternate between these masks just depending on what I need. I use them once or twice a week just depending on how my skin is behaving.

Next is my face moisturizer. This is just a fairly inexpensive one from the drugstore by Neutrogena. It is an oil-free lotion that is designed specifically for combination skin. It really hydrates the areas that need to be, but also controls shine in the T-zone area. I really like this moisturizer and it definitely keeps my skin hydrated and soft.

My lip butter from Bath & Body Works is one of my favorite things ever. It is in my favorite scent, Market Peach and it just leaves my lips so hydrated and super soft!

This eye cream from Kiehls has worked wonders on my under eye area. I know I've been raving about my one from Origins, but I've definitely found a new favorite. This cream is just super hydrating and also gets rid of puffiness and dark circles.

Last product is the one I use when I want to really treat my hair. It is the Deep Repair Masque by Macadamia. This deep conditioner is amazing at keeping my hair soft and smooth and it helps get rid of frizz and split ends. I use it about once a week and especially after a day at the beach or pool to put some moisture back into my hair.

Hope you enjoyed!

My Current Obsessions!

I'm not one to try a bunch of new products all at once because one,  I can't afford to and two, I don't like change -at least not all at once. So it is quite obvious that "monthly favorites" posts aren't going to be a regular thing on this blog.

However, I do want to share when I actually venture out and try new things. I have recently bought a few new bits here and there and I've become completely obsessed with the products I'm going to share with you. Really, its a problem...

The first is my YSL baby doll mascara. If I could only use one word to describe this mascara it would be: perfection. I have never been so in love with a mascara or any other item of make up before in my life. Starting off with the packaging, I just love how chic and glamorous (does anyone else channel their inner Fergie to spell that word?) the gold and hot pink are. It is so simple yet so pretty! The formula of this mascara is amazing. It goes on so smooth and the wand just glides over my lashes so easily. After two coats of this stuff it seriously looks like I'm wearing falsies.

I am so so thankful that my best friend gave this to me as a gift. As I couldn't ever justify spending $30 on a mascara for myself. But I am so hooked on this mascara that I'm going to have to repurchase this with some Christmas cash or a gift card because I just can't ever go back to any other mascara!

Next up, this Beauty Blender dupe is seriously the best thing that has happened to my foundation routine. When the Beauty Blender first hit shelves I was very skeptical about buying it. Even after all of the amazing reviews it got, I just couldn't bring myself to buy a sponge for $20. Once I heard a review on this dupe by Real Techniques I knew I had to try it. I absolutely adore Sam and Nic's brushes and knew they wouldn't disappoint with their Miracle Complexion Sponge.

The greatest thing about this product isn't the flawless application or the unique shape that gets every spot of your face or even the fact that you can use it with any formula or foundation or concealer. It's the fact that this amazing little guy is only $5.99! I know, right!? I can't say it enough times... I am in love with this thing! I haven't applied my foundation with anything else since I bought it. It is also super easy to clean, which is another plus.

Last, - but not at all least on the level of obsessed - is this nail polish by Essie. It is the color Bikini So Teeny and I adore this color so much. It is definitely my favorite out of all of the colors in my collection and I can't stop wearing it. Seriously, every time I go to paint my nails I take this color off and just end up putting it right back on. It's on my nails as I type and it will probably be on my nails when I get a manicure next.

Its kind of a funny story on why I even decided to buy this nail color. I was at work and noticed one of my coworkers was wearing either this same color or one very similar to it. I immediately fell in love with the unique shade of blue. As soon as I clocked out, I ran right over to Ulta - which is just a few doors down, dangerous right? - and searched the nail polish racks until I found it. I just can't get enough of this color. It is definitely my staple summer color and such an amazing color to have in my collection.

I hope you enjoyed this short, but very detailed post on my current obsessions. And now after you've read this, I'm sure you'd agree that I'm not using the word obsessed lightly at all!
